Privacy notice - Glance
Last updated: 2 November 2026
Glance is a teleprompter app for Mac. It shows your script under your camera and follows your voice as you read. This notice explains what information the app uses and the choices you have.
In short
- Glance does not have accounts and does not send your scripts or your voice anywhere.
- Your scripts, their earlier versions and your settings are stored on your Mac only.
- Voice following uses speech recognition on your Mac. Your audio is not recorded, saved, or sent to us or to anyone else. If on-device recognition isn't available for your language, Glance does not use it, and tells you.
- We do not sell your data and we do not use it for advertising.
- Payments are handled by Apple. We never see your card details.
Who we are
Glance is run by Success Solutions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 09734776), 27 Old Gloucester Street, London WC1N 3AX. Data protection registration (ICO): ZC270698. Contact: privacy@glanceprompter.app.
What the app uses and why
| Information | What it is used for | Where it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Your scripts, earlier versions of them, and your settings (text size, microphone, language, shortcuts, etc.) | So your scripts and choices are there next time you open Glance | On your Mac only, in Glance's own storage |
| Files you import (PDF, Word, text and similar) | To turn the file's text into a script | Read on your Mac when you choose a file; the text is copied into your script and the file itself is not kept or sent |
| Microphone audio | To follow where you are in your script as you speak | Processed on your Mac while the prompter is running; not stored or sent |
| Speech recognition | To turn that audio into words so they can be matched to your script | Done on your Mac using Apple's on-device recogniser |
| Purchase and trial status | To know whether your free trial is running or you have bought Glance | Held by Apple (your Apple Account) and checked on your Mac |
You choose whether to allow microphone and speech recognition access. You can turn either off in System Settings > Privacy & Security. Without them, Glance still works in Fixed speed mode.
What we collect
We do not collect personal data through the app. Apple may give us anonymous sales and usage statistics through App Store Connect, which cannot identify you.
Screen sharing
Glance can hide its prompter window from screen sharing and recordings. This only changes what other people see of your screen; nothing is captured or stored by Glance.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over any personal data we hold. Because Glance doesn't hold your data, there is usually nothing to access or delete, but you can contact us at privacy@glanceprompter.app with any question or complaint. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Glance is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this notice changes in an important way, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
